Gym Policies

General Policies:

-A member is anyone who has an active membership to The Workshop.
-Members are expected to be kind and respectful to other members, the facility, the building, and other tenets of the building.
-Members are expected to report any issues or problems they experience to The Owner.
-No pets are allowed in The Workshop.
-Members may not use any tools in The Workshop, besides the t-wrench, without permission from The Owner.
-Members may not let other people into The Workshop, or the Barnum Factory, unless they are guests.
-Members may not share their fob with anyone else.
-Members should comply with all rules of the Barnum Factory.
-Members and guests must sign in and out.
-No refunds for memberships, guest passes, or keyfobs.

Minor Policy:

-No persons under the age of 18 will be allowed to climb or use equipment at The Workshop.

Guest Policy:

-A guest is anyone who is climbing at The Workshop without a membership and has or will purchase a day pass.
-Only Members may bring in guests.
-A member can bring guests as long as each guest purchases a day pass.
-A day pass allows a guest to climb and use training equipment for one day; No re-entry once the guest has signed out or left the Barnum Factory.
-Members may bring up to 3 guests at one time.
-Guests must sign a waiver upon entering The Workshop.
-Members must provide an orientation for their guests.
-Once guests have purchased a day pass and have signed the waiver they may climb and use training equipment.
-Members are held accountable for the guests that they bring in, and must be with them at all times.

Two-Strike Policy:

-Any member, guest, or individual found in violation of The Workshop’s policies will be issued a strike by email and a copy of the policy list. This includes bringing in unauthorized people into the gym.
-Any member, guest, or individual that receives two strikes will have their access to The Workshop revoked pending an investigation and talk with the member in question.
-Once an investigation is complete the member, guest, or individual in question will have one of the following happen: Membership revoked for a specified period of time, or permanent ban from The Workshop.
-Some serious violations of the policy may result in two strikes given at once.
-Other serious offenses not listed against The Workshop or its members may result in one or two strikes being given to the member, guest, or individual.

Other Rules and Considerations:

-Climbing is inherently dangerous.
-Climb and use training equipment at your own risk.
-No weapons or firearms permitted.
-No smoking, alcohol, or other drugs.
-No food in climbing areas, all drinks need to have a closed lid in climbing areas.
-No street shoes in the climbing area.
-No bare feet on climbing holds.
-If a hold is loose or spinning members can tighten it with a t-wrench, or leave a note on the board.
-Be cautious and aware of your surroundings at all times; be aware of fall-zones.
-Do not expect anyone to spot you.
-Do not walk under other climbers.
-Climbing alone is discouraged.
-Be prepared and cautious when falling.
